Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said again on the Senate floor Saturday that Speaker John Boehner must bring the Senate spending bill up for a vote, asserting that Boehner told Reid it was the bill he wanted.

Reid’s comments after his spokesman took to Twitter Saturday morning to say that the Senate bill was Boehner’s idea “in the first place.”

“He was waylaid by this tea party-driven nonsense. He’s even refused to allow a vote on a bill that he proposed,” Reid said on the floor. “All the Speaker has to do is find the courage to defy the tea party for the good of our country.”

“The bill we’re asking the speaker to vote on is the one he told me he wanted,” Reid said.
