House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) on Wednesday said that Republican lawmakers will move to address Obamacare as quickly as possible next year.

“We need to get Obamacare relief to families as fast as possible,” he told reporters at a press conference on Capitol Hill. “That is our plan.”

Ryan would not further address the House’s priorities for the next Congress when Donald Trump takes office.

The speaker told Wisconsin radio station WCLO that addressing Obamacare would be one of his top priorities next year and that the House would work on that “early on the agenda.” Ryan listed boosting the economy by reducing regulations, making changes to the tax code, and securing the border as other top priorities during his WCLO interview.

  1. Soon our national nightmare of insurance for all will be over.

  2. I plan on investing heavily in Alpo. I see lots of retired folks stocking up on cat food and dog food.

  3. Is there a more meaningless expression in the English language than “as fast as possible”?

I believe it’s starting to sink in that undoing the ACA returning 20+M Americans to the ranks of the uninsured is hard. People with ACA coverage are getting life saving medical care, chemotherapy, diabetes medications, etc. Throwing them under the bus will be catnip to the major news channels.

The problem America has with the current GOP is that they are revolutionary ideologues who have learned everything they know about government and public policy from Fox News. They can rage against ‘Obamacare’ all day long but they have no idea to actually make changes that are not a complete disaster for millions of Americans. And it appears many of them are starting to figure this out.

    “Obamacare relief”

What in the flying fuck is that?

  5. In other words, Ryan et al. seem to be saying, it’s better to kill the patient quickly rather than make the poor soul suffer a lingering death.
