Former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife Maureen McDonnell, who were charged Tuesday for illegally accepting gifts from a political donor, will appear in court in Richmond, Va. on Friday for arraignment, according to court documents.
The summons issued called Maureen McDonnell to court Friday at 10 a.m. and Bob McDonnell to court at 11 a.m.
After a months-long investigation into the relationship between the McDonnells and former CEO of Star Scientific Jonnie Williams, prosecutors allege that Williams gave the then-governor more than $150,000 in gifts and payments for their support in the company.
