McAllister says he's asking his family and constituents for forgiveness after a West Monroe newspaper published a video that it says shows the congressman kissing a female staffer in his congressional office in Monroe, La. Rep. Vance McAllister (R-LA), who was caught kissing his staffer, will not seek re-election, his office told the News-Star.

The congressman will finish his term. Multiple Louisiana Republicans previously called on McAllister to step down, but he refused.

After a video showing McAllister kissing his staffer was published earlier in April, the congressman apologized.

“There’s no doubt I’ve fallen short and I’m asking for forgiveness,” he said in a statement. “I’m asking for forgiveness from God, my wife, my kids, my staff, and my constituents who elected me to serve.”

Normally, I defend politicians when they’re accused of something that should remain strictly in their personal life - but Clinton, Sanford, and this dummy took their personal lives to work with them. You don’t do this sort of thing on the clock - which shows that many of these politicians don’t treat their job like an actual job.

  2. Frankly, I don’t care that any of these clowns cheat on the job or off the job. I always appreciated that Clinton was multi-tasking! What I have a problem with is the hypocrisy. Don’t preach about family valu-ahs and don’t try to legislate others’ morality. Worry about your own backyard and what’s jumping off (or not) in your own bedroom. But don’t go telling other folks how to live their lives, especially if you can’t even live up to your own standards. Other than that, I believe in the Larry Flynt mantra…Relax, it’s only sex.

  3. How about apologizing to and asking forgiveness from the husband of the woman you were kissing?

  4. He’s only resigning to distract is from Obamacare.
