Local Omaha ABC affiliate KETV used a modified version of a poster for the popular television show “Lost” in a tweet promoting its coverage of the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, Deadspin reported Wednesday.

KETV has since deleted the tweet, but Deadspin captured a screenshot:

KETV apologized for the tweet on Thursday.

“We apologize for the post. While it was not intended to be insensitive we can see how it would be viewed that way in light of such a tragedy,” the station said in a statement to TPM.

In the TV show “Lost”, a plane crashes, leaving the passengers stranded on a deserted island.

CNN’s Don Lemon also mentioned “Lost” during his coverage of the many theories about the missing jet, but only while reading a viewer’s tweet.
