Katrina Pierson, a spokeswoman for Donald Trump, on Tuesday night defended instances when the campaign has blocked reporters from covering the candidate’s events and said that some reporters write “constant hit pieces for no reason.”

On Fox News, Megyn Kelly noted that Politico reporter Ben Schreckinger was blocked from covering Trump’s Tuesday night press conference. He had just written a piece, based on anonymous sourcing, that painted Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, as aggressive and disliked by other staffers on the campaign.

Kelly asked Pierson if Americans can expect Trump to ban reporters who write unflattering pieces if he becomes president.

Pierson said that she had not seen the report that the Politico journalist had been denied credentials, but told Kelly that people should not expect Trump ban reporters. She said that the campaign will scrutinize certain journalists, however.

“If you have a reporter that is not really reporting, but just doing constant hit pieces for no reason, then that’s something we need to look at,” she said. “We have a lot of reporters who essentially have just been glorified bloggers who aren’t really interested in covering the campaign or even the race for that matter, they’re just out there trying to start trouble.”

Kelly noted that the Trump campaign has blocked numerous reporters from campaign events, including a journalist with the Des Moines Register.

“You understand that there’s a First Amendment, there’s freedom of the press, and you don’t get to snuff that out when you’re the president of the United States, right? Does he understand that?” Kelly asked.

“Oh, he definitely understands that,” Pierson replied, adding that when in the spin room, Trump “goes down every single lane and talks to every single reporter.”

“constant hit pieces for no reason.” Just as delusional as her boss. And if she thinks the hit pieces are bad now you just wait to see what happens over the next several weeks now the Drumpf is the certain nominee.

The irony of someone of the Drumpf spokesman complaining about “constant hit pieces” to the network whose sole function is nothing but hit pieces about the President.

Exactly. Mika gets a statement like “Nice job, keep up the good, classy work, by the way, feel free to drop by my room later,” whereas people who perform actual journalism get “Kiss my ass. I know where you work, and my boys will be paying you a visit.”

Somehow Trump snuffing reporters seems like a consistent theme.
