During a press conference in Iowa on Tuesday night, Donald Trump ejected Univision anchor Jorge Ramos after the journalist began asking the real estate mogul about his plan to deport undocumented immigrants from the U.S. without first being called on by Trump.
As Ramos confronted Trump, he told the journalist that he had not been called upon and repeatedly told Ramos to sit down, according to video captured by CNN.
“Go back to Univision,” Trump told Ramos.
A security officer then proceeded to escort Ramos out of the press conference.
Trump quickly defended Ramos’ ejection, claiming that he had nothing to do with the move.
“I didn’t escort him out. You’ll have to talk to security, whoever security escorted him,” Trump said. “He just stands up and starts screaming, so maybe he’s at fault also.”
“He was out of order. I would take his question in two seconds, but he stood up and started screaming,” Trump continued later. “He’s obviously a very emotional person.”
Trump later allowed Ramos to return and ask questions about the real estate mogul’s immigration proposals. Ramos told Trump that his immigration plan is “full of empty promises,” according to CNN.
Trump has a rocky history with Univision and Ramos. The network dropped Trump’s Miss USA pageant following the real estate mogul’s comments about Mexican immigrants during his presidential announcement speech. And Ramos has been trying unsuccessfully for months to land an interview with Trump.
Following the press conference, Ramos told CNN that Trump’s comments about immigrants have been “offensive,” and explained that he does not believe Trump’s proposals will work.
“Everything that Donald Trump is trying to sell is false. It’s not going to work,” Ramos said. “This is not politics for us. This is personal. When he’s talking about immigrants, he’s talking about me.”

This will only serve to improve Trump’s standing with the GOP base.
Did you notice how all the other reporters acted to support Ramos? Nah, I didn’t either.
Yep. As well as solidify the Democratic nominee’s win in 2016.
I can think of at least one instance where we would be assured of transparency by a Trump administration. His enemies list will not be a secret.
There is an interesting side story to this. Notice how the media is framing this story re: Ramos. Then look at how they essentially ignore it when similar events often spurred by Fox News occur at an Obama press conference/media interaction.
