It seems everyone is having fun at CNN’s expense these days. On Saturday, it was John Kerry’s turn.

Yes, the secretary of state couldn’t resist poking fun at CNN’s ratings woes when he delivered remarks at the annual Gridiron Club dinner.

The set-up for Kerry’s punch line: an allusion to a pretty ridiculous question about his 2016 ambitions that came up during an interview with the cable news channel last month.

“I am out of politics — and based on the ratings, so is CNN,” Kerry said, according to Politico.

Truthfully, Mark Halperin deserves the lion’s share of the mockery for stoking speculation about Kerry’s White House prospects.

But the CNN roasting wasn’t limited to Kerry. Florida gubernatorial hopeful Charlie Crist piled on.

“You know things are bad at CNN when they say they may go to a print edition,” Crist told the Gridiron attendees, as quoted by Politico.
