“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough, who’s long been criticized for appearing too pro-Donald Trump, said Thursday morning he won’t vote for the presumptive Republican nominee if he continues to stand by his proposed temporary ban on Muslim immigration.

“The convention offers him an opportunity – [it] will be the first time a lot of Americans have really looked at Donald Trump, the candidate. We see this all the time. The vice presidential selection offers him an opportunity,” Scarborough said, noting Trump is running out of chances to ideologically pivot as a candidate.

The former Florida congressman went on to say if Trump goes into August with his current polling numbers, he would lost “big time” in the fall, so his campaign “better be all hands on deck right now. This is not going to be a slow turn.”

After Trump said in a Wednesday night interview that he’s not backing away from his proposed sweeping ban on Muslim immigration into the country, Scarborough said he was disappointed in the candidate.

“And I gotta say I was surprised and disappointed … that yesterday, he stuck by the Muslim ban. That’s a loser. It’s a loser with the majority of Americans,” the MSNBC host said. “And you’ve got Republicans like me. I just, I’m not going to vote for a guy” like that, he said.
