Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) is one of the people who could be president of the United States one day, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said.

“My own view is that I think Gillibrand is one of the people in the United States of America that I think can be president of the United States,” Hoyer said in a profile of Gillibrand that National Journal published Friday.

Gillibrand has been floated as a dark horse presidential candidate, albeit one who would only run in 2016 if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) passed. Both have been mentioned as strong potential 2016 candidates.
