The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on Friday night on two bills, first on the GOP’s border supplemental and then on their proposal to end the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Vote schedules often change but the current plan is to start voting on the first bill between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. and wrap up both of them around 11 p.m.
And Evel Knievel will come back from the grave to do jump over the GOP caucus, making it a stunt-trifecta in the House.
Anyone betting the anti-immigration party will do something different with this vote, something enlightened towards migrant children fer chrissakes, will lose.
more proof that the gop is insuring a permanent minority status in presidential elections.
Agreed. Rinse and whatever purported leadership there is will urge the party to embrace immigration reform, but the shameful base is energized by demonizing them.
I wonder if anyone is buying any of this crap. They sue the President for overstepping his authority, but then Boehner said if the house didn’t pass the emergency aid bill, Obama had the power to see it done. They HAD to do something after that.
As far as the immigration bill is concerned, it’s all political theater. They will pass a watered down, contrary mess that will never see daylight in the senate, and go home saying; “We really tried”.
