Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told her supporters Tuesday “forward!” after rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was projected to win the primary in Wisconsin.

Clinton also tweeted her congratulations to Sanders:

The Clinton campaign had acknowledged in a fundraising email Monday that the Wisconsin primary would be a “tough fight,” but that the “nomination isn’t locked up yet.”

Classy tweet. I have tremendous respect for both Democratic candidates, and I think they also share deeply held respect for each other. Here’s to hoping that the followers will pick up on that sentiment.

  2. There’s no comparison between Hillary’s classy congratulations and Trump’s whining and crying and stamping his feet.

Or to put it another way, you could make a comparison, but it would be all contrast and no similarity.

  3. By the way, while I’m sure Team Hillary would have preferred a win tonight, they may reap at least one benefit from this loss – Hillary supporters in NY may be less likely to perceive the race as basically sewed up, and therefore they may turn out stronger than they would have if it was a Hillary win or a tie or a narrow Bernie win tonight. So, possible silver lining there for the Clinton Camp.

  4. Thus ends the open primaries and caucuses phase of the campaign. Now we move onto polling just Democrats, and all Democrats instead of the caucus-goers.

  5. As all football fans know the correct phrase after a humbling loss on national television is “on to New York”. I become more convinced that Bernie is an unwinnable candidate in the general. I love him and his positions dearly. The ‘socialist’ boogeyman title does not have the sting it used to but it doesn’t have to … it just has to have some sting.
