Heidi Cruz, wife of Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) told Fox News in an interview set to air Tuesday that Donald Trump’s retweet of a meme that featured an unflattering picture of her “didn’t impact” her “in the least.”
In highlights of the interview provided to TPM, Cruz told Fox News host Megyn Kelly that she could “completely ignore” Trump’s jab because she doesn’t tweet.
Heidi Cruz does have a verified Twitter account, but it’s typically used to distribute campaign information.
“I think we have a pattern of behavior here that when Donald Trump is falling behind. You know it’s interesting the timing of that was right before Ted’s sweep, sweeping victory in Utah,” Cruz told Kelly. “But I will tell you I know why we are running this race and it’s not for Donald Trump it is for the voters of this country and when you have a husband who is standing by you that is so strong and so unflappable it really gives me a lot of strength. So I really have to honestly say it didn’t impact me in the least.”
Trump retweeted a meme last month of Cruz that included an unflattering picture of her next to a more flattering picture of his wife, former supermodel Melania Trump. Ted Cruz went on to give a fiery defense of his wife in a press conference, telling reporters that Trump was a “sniveling coward” and ordering him to “leave Heidi the hell alone.”
Cruz’s interview with Megyn Kelly is scheduled to air Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.
She looks good to me.
It’s easy for Heidi to be sanguine about Trump’s antics. All she has to do is gaze upon The Face of God (aka Ted Cruz) for solace.
Why continue to bring it up then? Is there more milk in there?
Well, if that’s the “face of God,” all I can say is thank the universe I wasn’t made in his image!
It took a month of therapy … er, contemplation … to say it didn’t bother you a whit?
Okey dokey.
