Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) expressed confidence Thursday that the Obama administration will acquiesce to the GOP’s demands to be given access to witnesses of last year’s deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya.

Graham was asked during an appearance on CNN’s “New Day” how he rated the chances of being granted access, given that the White House has consistently told Republicans that it’s provided enough information throughout the investigation.

“Very good. That’s a bunch of garbage. They haven’t provided access to – how can you close the chapter on Benghazi when you never talked to the witnesses? The Accountability Review Board, an internal State Department organization, had access to the witnesses,” Graham said. “We’re supposed to believe them, and can’t interview the witnesses ourselves?”

“I’m asking every Republican and Democrat to join together and tell this administration you can’t get away with this.  This is a bad precedent.  What would the world look like — America look like if you have a failure like this and they use the criminal process — 9/11, you couldn’t investigate 9/11 under the theory that there may be a potential crime prosecuted later,” he continued.

“That’s a ridiculous concept.  And now an al Qaeda attack, is not a crime it’s a national security event.  This was a national security failure and the truth is not coming out and the only way it will come out is to have access to the witnesses.”

Graham threatened earlier this week to block every administration apointee until survivors of the attack testify before Congress. His old pal Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said Wednesday that they may delay the nomination of Janet Yellen to chair the Federal Reserve in an effort to get more information on the attack.
