It may have cost him a stay in the hospital, but at least he won.

A man in Lehi, Utah was hospitalized for three days battling double lung pneumonia after drinking too much eggnog in a holiday party contest two weeks ago, according to the Fox News affiliate in Salt Lake City.

“I pretty much just opened my throat and just poured it down,” the man, Ryan Roche, told the television station. “I didn’t take a single breath the entire time.”

Twelve seconds after chugging the quart of eggnog and beating his colleagues in an eggnog drinking contest, Roche could tell something was wrong.

“I couldn’t get air,” Roche said. “I started clearing my airwaves, and I basically was aspirating eggnog.”

Later that night Roche was admitted to a hospital. He received treatment for a lung infection.

“I’m on oxygen. I’m on double IV,” Roche said. “They have me hooked up to the nuclear weapon of antibiotics.”
