Businessman and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stood by his recent comments about shutting down mosques during a Tuesday interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“You’re going to have to do something,” Trump said when asked for more details about his suggestion to shut down Islamic places of worship in America. “Some bad things are happening and a lot of them are happening in the mosque and you’re going to have to do something. I’m not the only one saying this, other countries are saying this, frankly, but some really bad things are happening.”
Trump said he’s speaking the hard truth that “nobody wants to say.”
“Nobody wants to shut down religious institutions or anything, but you understand it,” the real estate mogul said. “We’re gonna have no choice, absolutely no choice.”
Trump also piled on President Barack Obama and his administration for refusing to use the term “radical Islam.”
“He doesn’t understand anything. He doesn’t get it, refuses to even call it by its correct name,” Trump said.
