If Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was basing his performance at the GOP debate Thursday night on the media’s coverage of the event, he told Fox on Friday that he’d give himself high marks.

“Well if I go by Drudge, which is a great group of people or if I go by Time magazine, I have to give myself an A,” he told Fox hosts, when asked what grade he would give himself. “Or if I go by The New York Times — the front page of The New York Times – I have to give myself an A.”

“I was happy with the performance,” he continued.

Trump also said that if he had his way, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina would’ve debated during the 9 p.m. GOP debate instead of earlier in the night, he told Fox.

Trump said Fiorina was a “very effective debater.”

Trump would’ve “bumped” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), he said, because “he was the only one that came at me last night.”

Paul criticized Trump for considering running as an independent candidate.

Trump also said he was treated unfairly at the GOP debate, when Fox’s Bret Baier asked the candidates on the stage to raise their hands if they would consider running as a third-party candidate. Only Trump raised his hand.

“That question or that statement was aimed at me, which I didn’t think was appropriate,” Trump told Fox.

Trump also discussed the comment he made about Rosie O’Donnell Thursday night, when he called her a “fat pig.”

“(The comment) really got a tremendous applause. That was the biggest applause of the evening. It was sort of interesting actually,” Trump said on Fox.

Trump also said his phone call with Bill Clinton was a “nice” and “nothing” call.
He said he talked to Bill Clinton “long after” he decided to run and that he and the former president “aren’t particularly friends or anything.”
