Hillary Clinton is the projected winner of Tuesday night’s Democratic primary in Washington D.C. with about 41 percent of the vote tallied, according to the Associated Press and CNN.
Clinton garnered 78.8 percent of the vote to Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) 21 percent in the final contest of the year.
Clinton became the party’s presumptive nominee last week.
Sanders has said he would stay in the race until the party’s summer convention. His campaign confirmed to TPM on Tuesday the senator plans to hold a live streamed talk with supporters to discuss the future of the campaign on Thursday night.

Winning big as the final act, too. If the numbers hold, she will net more delegates tonight than Bernie did in any of his wins, except Vermont.
Go Hillary!
Congratulations Madam President!
Well done!
Whew! I say we do this primary thing in another say…eight years?
Talk about big finishes - this is hilicious.
Hill Yeah!!!
He honestly could’ve extracted much more out of the party by winding down his campaign two weeks ago and either conceding and/or beginning the process of moving his supporters toward Clinton. With her wins in NM, NJ, CA, and now DC and the latest polls, he’s actually losing leverage and has far less of a case to make as to why he should be given any concessions. With each passing hour, the bigger of an ass Trump reveals himself to be, and the less Clinton needs Sanders to bring his supporters along to her. Sanders is running out of reasons for anyone to listen to him and Clinton and the party are running out of reasons to listen to him.
