Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton won Tuesday in the Arkansas primary, according to projections from CNN and Fox News.

Clinton, who was the favored candidate to win over rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), was projected to win shortly after polls closed at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Leading up to the primary, Clinton touted her experience in Arkansas, sharing stories on the campaign trail from when her husband and former President Bill Clinton was governor of the state.

“It’s really important to me that you all know, Arkansas runs deep in me,” Clinton was quoted as saying, according to the The New York Times. “I had 18 wonderful years in the state.”

Clinton also won the Arkansas primary in 2008, though she ultimately lost the nomination to then-Sen. Barack Obama. State legislators agreed to move up the date of this year’s primary so that the state could have a more prominent place in the election cycle, according to the Associated Press.
