Republican presidential candidate and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Sunday that he would rather jump off the Brooklyn Bridge than serve in Congress.
Christie said that he had worked as governor with Republican legislators to reform the state’s pension and tenure systems.
“That shows I can keep the Republican party together,” Christie said. “Maybe they should send me the House caucus to try to help them with that.”
“You’re not running for speaker now, are you?” ABC “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos asked.
“I am not, sir, no,” Christie replied. “I would rather jump off the Brooklyn Bridge than be in Congress.”
Watch Christie’s comment from The Daily Caller:
If he did, he’d tie up traffic for hours.
(This joke wrote itself).
Well the George Washington Bridge will do,and will do you in it seems IMO.
Does the East River have an anti-flood tidal barrier like the Thames? If not, I strongly suggest that the City take a proactive stance and consider installing one in response to Christie’s veiled threat.
What a coincidence. We’d rather you jump off a bridge and not serve in Congress either…For once, we think alike. Btw, didn’t bother to read the article…just the headline was enough for me…
(drums fingers on desk top)
What bridge would that be Mr Governor-who-ties up-traffic-out-of-petulance?
