Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said the suspected shooter at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic was “deranged,” but dismissed any connection between anti-abortion rhetoric and the shooting as “left-wing tactics.”

“This is so typical of the left to immediately begin demonizing a messenger because they don’t agree with the message,” Fiorina said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday With Chris Wallace.” “The vast majority of Americans agree: What Planned Parenthood is doing is wrong.”

Robert Lewis Dear, 57, killed three people, including a police officer, and injured nine others at a Colorado Springs clinic on Saturday following a five-hour standoff with police.

Fiorina said Dear will be tried for murder “as he should be.”

Wallace asked Fiorina for her message to protestors.

“Whether it’s Black Lives Matter or pro-life protestors, protesters should always be peaceful and respectful,” Fiorina said.

During the CNN Republican presidential debate in September, Fiorina broke out of the crowded Republican field with her impassioned description of late-term abortions. At the debate, Fiorina told her opponents to watch the debunked undercover videos filmed at Planned Parenthood clinics and “watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.”
