Former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D) on Sunday continue to fuel speculation that he’s gearing up for a presidential run in 2016.
During the final segment on MSNBC’s “Up With Steve Kornacki,” TPM’s Sahil Kapur asked Schweitzer point blank if he intends to launch a White House bid. With a reference to the important early caucus state of Iowa, the jovial Democrat strongly insinuated that he intends to run.
“Well, I’ll just say there’s around 100 counties in Iowa, and on my bucket list is to try and make it to all the counties of Iowa someday,” Schweitzer said.
Schweitzer dropped a similar hint in an interview last month, saying he holds “the people of Iowa and New Hampshire in high regard.”
