A phrase has cropped up at least twice in recent days at Fox News as speculation has built over anticipated executive action from President Obama: “impeachment bait.”
“Fox & Friends” host Brian Kilmeade used it on Friday morning while speaking with correspondent Elizabeth Prann about the criticism President Obama has faced over using executive action on immigration matters.
“Republicans gear up for the likelihood the president will use an executive action on immigration—but is it just impeachment bait?” Kilmeade said.
On Thursday night, Fox contributor Charles Krauthammer used the phrase as well, saying Republicans would be “insane” to try and impeach the president were he to try and legalize 5 million undocumented immigrants. “Fox & Friends” played the clip of Krauthammer during its segment.
“I think the President might have been calculating that this would be impeachment bait,” Krauthammer said.
Krauthammer also used the phrase earlier this month on an appearance with news anchor Bret Baier.

“Hah! The president is trying to sucker us into impeaching him but we’re just too smart for that, right Gretchen?”
“I’m Elizabeth, Brian. Gretchen left a couple of months ago.”
“Next up, the results of an IQ test between a sack of American-made hammers and our own Brian Kilmeade!”
OK, wingers, today’s words are “impeachment bait”.
Banks use cash as robbery bait.

Mercifully untroubled by the ravages of intelligence.
That’s right Brian Fivehead, you guys don’t want to impeach, but Obama is making you do it. Makes total sense.
