Democratic presidential candidate and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was not impressed by Wednesday’s Republican primary debate.
“The evening was really pretty sad,” Sanders wrote in a Facebook post. “This country and our planet face enormous problems. And the Republican candidates barely touched upon them tonight. And when they did, they were dead wrong on virtually every position they took. The Republican Party cannot be allowed to lead this country.”
“That’s why we need a political revolution,” he added.
Sanders also made clear as he live-tweeted the debate that he found the discussion lacking:
Waiting, waiting, waiting. Will we hear anything about racial justice, income inequality or making college affordable? #DebateWithBernie

Have you heard anyone use the word “poverty” yet? 47.7 million Americans living in poverty. No discussion. #DebateWithBernie

I would have gone with “pathetic,” but yeah, “sad” works too.
Not as sad as Ann The Man thought it was.
How about ‘the f******* jews’? Do you know what they thought?
You tell 'em, Senator.
I don’t think he would have liked the answers.
Once again, the only person in that room that I might trust with the nuclear football is John Kasich. Sadly, I note he got almost as little applause for his “work with our allies” approach as Rand Paul did for pointing out that by overthrowing secular regimes, we’ve created openings for Islamic extremists, sectarian conflict, and terrorism. Nope, sorry boys, we’re just gonna arm up, go it alone, kill all the terrorists, frighten the rest of the world into submission, and then the Pax Americana will bloom. Simple as that.
