A new ad by Alison Lundergan Grimes features footage of Bill Clinton campaigning for the Democratic Senate candidate for Kentucky.
“One candidate believes it’s about getting new jobs, getting good jobs, giving middle class people a chance to give their kids a decent life,” says the former president, who won Kentucky twice. “Nobody can tell me it’s not a senator’s job to create jobs! And I choose Alison, because she will work with people from both parties to do what’s right for you. Send Alison to the Senate.”
The “not a senator’s job to create jobs” is a swipe at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for a remark he made months ago, which he has backed away from but which Grimes has repeatedly sought to use against him.
McConnell, for his part, plans to do a press availability with 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on Thursday evening in Lexington.
I don’t know, I’ve kind of lost hope in this race, unfortunately.
Where is Bill’s other hand? Good ad, but I remember in 2010 when the Big Dog came to Syracuse to stump for Dan Maffei (and other Dems in neighboring CD’s). It was an awesome appearance, but all for naught.
This seems a bit different. I think she could win.
Nice ad, but probably too little too late.
It’s flipping you the bird off-camera.
Wow. Nice.
