A group of 32 House Republicans sent a letter Wednesday to President Barack Obama calling on him to request Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ resignation over HealthCare.gov’s bumpy rollout.
“The scope of the problem is so great that, were this a private company or military command, the CEO or general would have been fired,” the representatives wrote, as quoted by the Washington Post. “We are, therefore, calling on you to hold Secretary Sebelius accountable for the fiasco that is HealthCare.gov and ask for her resignation.”
Without singling out any particular official for blame, Democratic Reps. Rick Nolan of Minnesota, Sean Patrick Maloney of New York and Bill Nelson of Florida have said whoever is responsible for the Obamacare web portal’s technical issues should be fired.
