We’re trying to piece together this morning what appears to be another epic flip flop from the Trump campaign on the release of medical records. Yesterday the idea was that Trump was going to on Dr. Oz’s show and release his medical records then. Now we’re hearing that’s not going to happen after all.

From piecing together the chain of events, this seems to be where we are.

1. Clinton has fainting event tied to pneumonia.

2. Trump announces he’s recently taken a physical and will soon release the records.

3. Monday morning Trump says he’ll release results of physical “this week.”

3. Trump camp announces that Trump will appear on the Dr. Oz show.

4. Dr. Oz goes on Fox News and says he’ll be releasing and discussing the results of Trump’s physical on the show. But he won’t discuss anything that will make Trump sad.

5. Kellyanne Conway goes on CNN to attack Clinton’s lack of medical transparency, also says Trump has a “right to privacy” about his health.

6. Trump spokesperson Hope Hicks says there will be no release of medical information on the Dr. Oz show but those records will be released “soon.”

So what does it all mean? Narrowly speaking we probably cannot call this a flip flop since the Trump campaign itself doesn’t appear to have said the medical records would be released or discussed on Dr. Oz’s show. Dr. Oz said that. How he would have come up with that idea, your guess is as good as mine. But as of Wednesday, the promise to release the records “this week” seems to have been replaced by “soon.”
