We’ve been talking over the last couple days about the apparent contradiction between Donald Trump’s statement that he never talked to Pam Bondi about his contribution or Trump University. Now Politico has gone to Trump for clarification. And Trump spokesperson Hope Hicks says there’s no contradiction. “His comments were in reference to any discussion about Trump University — not the donation,” Hicks told Politico.
As we noted earlier, at the time of their conversation, Trump was embroiled in a major PR War with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman over his impending Trump University law suit. He also would have known that a large number of the complaints about Trump University emerged out of Florida. Indeed, around this same time Trump was attacking Schneiderman claiming that he had tried to shake Trump down for campaign contributions in exchange for killing the Trump University lawsuit. Still, Trump says there was no discussion of the suit.
