Hillary Clinton trails just three points behind Donald Trump in a University of Houston deep-red Texas, conducted in the midst of the second debate and increasing evidence that Trump sexually assaulted and harassed women.

Trump comes out ahead among likely Texas voters, 41-38, with Libertarian Gary Johnson at 4 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 1 percent.

A recent Texas poll from Dixie Strategies shows Trump further ahead at +7.

Both recent polls show a decrease in the Republican candidate’s lead since 2012, when Romney won the state by 16 points.

The University of Houston poll was conducted via live telephone interview from Oct. 7-15 among 1,000 likely Texas voters, and has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for the general election in Texas shows Trump leading Clinton, 47.6 to 37.4.
