Democratic challenger Katie McGinty comes out ahead of Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) in Quinnipiac’s poll of the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania.

The latest poll of the closely-watched Senate race marks the first time Quinnipiac produced a poll showing the Democratic challenger ahead.

McGinty holds a slim lead over Toomey, 48-47, among likely Pennsylvania voters.

Last month, Quinnipiac showed the incumbent senator ahead by four points, 49-45, in the Pennsylvania Senate poll.

The Quinnipiac University poll surveyed 612 likely Pennsylvania voters via live telephone interview from Oct. 27-Nov. 1, with a margin of error of plus or minus four percent.
