McCain Leads By 10 Points In Arizona Senate Poll

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) leads Democratic challenger Ann Kirkpatrick by 10 points in a new poll of the U.S. Senate race in Arizona from Monmouth University.

The incumbent senator leads the poll, 50-40, with Green Party candidate Gary Swing trailing at 4 percent among likely Arizona voters.

Monmouth has not previously polled the U.S. Senate election in Arizona, but McCain held a similar 12-point lead, 52-40, in a recent poll from Arizona Republic/Morrison Institute for Public Policy/Cronkite News.

The Monmouth University poll was conducted Oct. 21-24 among 401 likely Arizona voters via live telephone interview, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for the U.S. Senate race in Arizona shows McCain leading Kirkpatrick, 49.3 to 41.7.
