Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) leads Democratic challenger and current Governor Maggie Hassan by two points in a Suffolk University/Boston Globe poll of the U.S. Senate race in New Hampshire.

Ayotte comes out ahead, 44-42, with Libertarian Brian Chabot following at 4 percent and Independent candidate Aaron Day at 1 percent.

Hassan has closed in on the incumbent senator since Suffolk University/Boston Globe previously polled the race in early October, when Ayotte led by six points, 47-41.

The Suffolk University/Boston Globe poll surveyed 500 likely voters via live telephone interview from Oct. 31-Nov. 2, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for the U.S. Senate election in New Hampshire shows a tossup, with Ayotte leading Hassan, 46.1 to 45.8.
