CDC To Shorten Recommended Quarantine For COVID-19 Exposure
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is set to shorten the recommended length of quarantine after exposure to someone who is positive for COVID-19, as the virus rages across the nation.
According to a senior administration official, the new guidelines, which are set to be released as soon as Tuesday evening, will allow people who have come in contact to someone infected with the virus to resume normal activity after 10 days, or 7 days if they receive a negative test result. That’s down from the 14-day period recommended since the onset of the pandemic.

Trump Doubles Down On Attacks That Have Inspired Death Threats Against GOP Officials In GA
President Donald Trump on Tuesday night continued to perpetuate election fraud propaganda even amid concerns that the false claims had put at risk the lives of officials involved in securing the election Georgia, which has been a central target of the President’s ire amid his election loss last month.
The President shared a post on Twitter that included comments from a voting systems implementation manager in Georgia, Gabriel Sterling, who called on the President to condemn the death threats that grew from efforts he has waged to promote claims of voter fraud. Those efforts, according to Sterling, are “inspiring acts of violence” that endanger the lives and wellbeing of key state officials, including Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, among others.
“Mr. President, you have not condemned these actions or this language,” Sterling said on Tuesday, adding that he and the Secretary of State had received death threats amid Trump’s effort to sow discord and deny the integrity of the vote in Georgia.
Rather than back down from his attacks on the two Republican state officials, Trump doubled down with even more venom — directly mentioning the governor who he formerly endorsed — and suggesting that Kemp and Raffensperger must be “afraid” of what voter fraud would be revealed in the Peach State even after a recount of ballots in Georgia confirmed President-elect Joe Biden as the state’s winner.
“Rigged Election. Show signatures and envelopes. Expose the massive voter fraud in Georgia. What is Secretary of State and @BrianKempGA afraid of. They know what we’ll find!!!” Trump tweeted.
President Trump’s attacks on local officials have typically been directed at Democratic leaders. In April, the President targeted Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) for measures taken in her state to combat the spread of coronavirus. Months later, Trump’s attacks on the governor were cited as potentially inciting an alleged plot to kidnap the Democratic leader that was foiled by federal authorities.
Trump’s most recent attacks show that he is willing to extend that rage to leaders within his own party who refuse to kowtow to his election falsehoods.
“Someone is going to get hurt, someone is going to get shot, someone is going to get killed,” Sterling said on Tuesday. “And it’s not right.”

Flynn Tells Us Who He Is Again
Last night, fresh off his pardon for past crimes, retired General Mike Flynn endorsed a call for President Trump to suspend the constitution and declare martial law. It came in a tweet in which Flynn tweeted and endorsed a manifesto calling on President “to immediately declare a limited form of Martial Law and temporarily suspend the Constitution and civilian control of these federal elections for the sole purpose of having the military oversee a national re-vote.”
Report: Trump Has Discussed Pardoning Three Of His Children, Jared Kushner
President Trump has consulted with advisers about potentially granting pre-emptive pardons to his children and to his son-in-law, the New York Times reported early Wednesday.
The news comes after an earlier report from the Times that Rudy Giuliani has discussed a potential pre-emptive pardon with the President.
According to the Times’ reporting, Trump is wary that the incoming Justice Department could target three of his children — Don Jr., Eric, and Ivanka Trump— as well as Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner, a White House senior adviser.
Although the cited reasons for the discussions of pardoning were retribution, according to the Times, some of the underlying reasons prompting the desire for the shelter of a potential pardoning are obvious. Don Jr. had been under investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller for contacts with Russians who had damaging information ahead of the 2016 presidential election about then Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
Seeking a security clearance, Kushner provided false information to federal authorities about his contacts with foreigners.
Per the Times, an investigation into the Trump Organization by the Manhattan district attorney, however, includes millions of dollars of tax write-offs, some of which appear to have gone to Ivanka Trump, although it’s unclear if this would be the underlying reason for the President to attempt to pardon his daughter.
President Trump’s concerns about Eric Trump are even less clear — although vague and broad pre-emptive pardoning has historical precedent.
The news comes as Fox News host Sean Hannity suggested during his Monday night show that Trump extend pardons to his entire family.
Blaming Democrats for a “witch hunt” he told viewers that the President should immediately “pardon his whole family and himself because they want this witch hunt to go on in perpetuity.”
