SCOTUS Taking Up 2nd Amendment Case Could Mean Cuts To Broad Swaths Of Gun Regulation

It’s been more than a decade since the Supreme Court decided a major Second Amendment case. But that dry spell ended with Monday’s decision to hear New York Rifle & Pistol Association v. Corlett. The specific question in Corlett is whether New York State’s requirement that individuals show “proper cause” to obtain a license to publicly carry a concealed handgun for self-defense violates the right to keep and bear arms. But in the course of answering that question, the Court could end up cutting down broad swaths of firearm regulation.

Giuliani’s Lawyer Releases Manic Statement On ‘Disturbing’ DOJ Search Warrants

Rudy Giuliani posted a rambling statement from his lawyer Wednesday night calling the search warrants executed on former mayor’s home and apartment a “disturbing example of complete disregard for the attorney-client privilege protected by the Sixth Amendment to the Constitution.” The statement claimed that the Justice Department was “running roughshod over the constitutional rights” of anyone who represented former President Trump.

The DOJ still plans to bring those charges against Chauvin and the three other officers involved in George Floyd’s arrest and death.
