In what seems to be a wildly misguided attempt at humor, a TSA worker pranked an unsuspecting college student by putting a bag of white powder in her luggage.

University of Michigan student Rebecca Solomon was stopped at Philadelphia’s airport by a TSA worker, who said he found a bag of white powder in her laptop case.

According to Solomon, who wrote a column about the incident for her college newspaper, the TSA employee “let me stutter through an explanation for the longest minute of my life.”

Soon after, he smiled and “waved the baggie” and said “he was kidding,” and that Solomon “should’ve seen the look” on her face.

According to TSA spokesperson Suzanne Trevino, “disciplinary action” has been taken against the employee, who is no longer with the agency. “The behavior exhibited by this TSA employee was highly inappropriate and unprofessional,” she said.

This is the latest in a series of airport flubs that have proven somewhat embarrassing for airport security officials in the wake of the attempted attack on Flight 253.
