President Donald Trump weighed in Monday on news that New York Attorney General Letitia James is launching an investigation into the NRA amid corruption allegations.

James’ office responded in a statement later on Monday.

“Attorney General Letitia James is focused on enforcing the rule of law,” the statement reads. “In any case we pursue, we will follow the facts wherever they may lead. We wish the President would share our respect for the law.”

The organization has been publicly roiled by infighting lately as the group’s president Oliver North announced that he would not serve another term, the group suspended its top lawyer, North and CEO Wayne LaPierre traded barbs and accusations and the group got into a legal skirmish with its longtime advertiser.
