President Donald Trump dismissed on Monday evening the notion that he would attempt to push back the presidential election, as his 2020 Democratic rival Joe Biden predicted last week.

“I never even thought of changing the date of the election,” Trump said during his press briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic. “Why would I?”

The President described November 3, the date of the election this year, as “a good number,” and accused Biden of peddling “made up propaganda.”

“Let him know I’m not thinking about it at all, not at all,” Trump told reporters.

During a fundraising event last Friday, Biden speculated that Trump would manufacture an excuse to push back the upcoming election.

“Mark my words, I think he is gonna try to kick back the election somehow, come up with some rationale why it can’t be held,” the Democratic candidate said.
