Just as he landed in London early Monday morning, President Trump kicked off his trip to the United Kingdom with a thread of insults hurled at London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Trump called Khan a “stone cold loser” and compared him to the “very dumb and incompetent” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, an apparent insult. He ended the tweet storm with a juvenile attempt to be the bigger person.
Khan hasn’t exactly been affable toward Trump in the past. During previous visits, he’s permitted the display of a Trump baby blimp and has said any official visits by the President would not be welcome. Khan’s main political vexation with Trump centers on the President’s Muslim travel ban. Khan is the first Muslim mayor of London.
….Kahn reminds me very much of our very dumb and incompetent Mayor of NYC, de Blasio, who has also done a terrible job – only half his height. In any event, I look forward to being a great friend to the United Kingdom, and am looking very much forward to my visit. Landing now!
