President Donald Trump kicked off his Thanksgiving by telling the country what he’s most thankful for at this annual time of reflection and gratitude: himself.

He said Thursday he’s most thankful “for having a great family and having made a tremendous difference in this country. I made a tremendous difference in the country. This country is so much stronger now than it was when I took office, you wouldn’t believe it.”

The braggadocious pronouncement was just the precursor to a strange call he had with the troops on Thanksgiving from Mar-a-Lago, during which he often veered into self-congratulatory waters.
