President Donald Trump attacked 2020 Democratic candidate Joe Biden on Tuesday, calling him “the weakest mentally.”

Before Trump left for his trip to Iowa, where Biden will also hold a rally Tuesday, the President took a shot at the frontrunner of the Democratic race.

“It looks like he’s failing, it looks like his friends from the left are going to overtake him very soon,” Trump said. “When a man has to mention my name 76 times in his speech, that means he’s in trouble. He’s a different guy. He acts different than he used to. He looks different than he used to.”

“I’d rather run against, I think, Biden than anybody,” Trump continued. “I think he’s the weakest mentally and I think Joe is weak mentally. The others have much more energy.”

Going after opponents’ mental acuity has become a theme for Trump and his allies lately.

The Daily Beast noted that Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Kennedy Montgomery have been peddling rumors of Biden’s allegedly poor health.

And Trump and Rudy Giuliani, his lawyer, pushed doctored videos of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) that made her seem like she was slurring her speech in an attempt to make her look sick.

In his prepared remarks for his Iowa speech, Biden calls Trump an “existential threat to America.”
