LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials say one person is injured and a suspect is in custody after two separate fires were discovered at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.
The Clark County Fire Department released a statement saying toasters, towels and various other materials were used to ignite the fires at the hotel bearing President Donald Trump’s name.
One blaze was located in the women’s restroom, on the pool deck level, and the other was in the hallway of the 17th floor.
A county spokesman says a hotel security guard was injured. The extent of the guard’s injuries was not immediately released.
A police spokesman tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal (http://bit.ly/2q8dLyV) that the man in custody is facing charges of first-degree arson and burglary.

Unless you can ID some political motive here, then I don’t understand why this is an AP story unless it is to fan the flames of the right wing fever swamp (methane burns, so not a mixed metaphor! Except that fanning methane fires doesn’t do anything, so maybe not mixed but sucky).
Are we going to read about every misdemeanor committed at a Trump property now, regardless of intent?
I was just in Las Vegas last weekend and my group and I wondered what the occupancy rate was at the TRUMP hotel. We thought it was fitting that the hotel is gilded, but otherwise unremarkable, and kind of standing off on its own, like none of the other hotels really want to associate with it.
