Embattled Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele called rank-and-file RNC members yesterday with reassurances about the party’s direction and with good fundraising news,
the Washington Post is reporting.

As he spoke with RNC members Tuesday, Steele highlighted that the party has responded to the scandal, with a new chief of staff and revamped accountability measures.
The RNC raised $11.4 million in March.
