WATERTOWN, Wis. (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama says drinking more water is the best thing Americans can do to improve their health.
She spoke Thursday in Watertown, Wis., where she was helping the nonprofit Partnership for a Healthier America launch a new campaign to encourage people to drink more water.
The effort is backed by the American Beverage Association and a number of bottled water companies.
Some health and environmental companies say while encouraging people to drink water is a good thing, they’d like to see the first lady focus on promoting tap water, which is free and avoids litter from plastic bottles that aren’t recycled.
