Landrieu’s Spox: ‘She Misspoke’ — And Does Not Want To Go ‘Back To The Drawing Board’ On Health Care Reform

Earlier we told you about Sen. Mary Landrieu’s (D-LA) appearance on MSNBC, where she declared that “there’s always tomorrow” on health care reform, and seemed to suggest that Democrats ought to go “back to the drawing board.”

“I would strongly advise about completely going back to the drawing board,” Landrieu said.

But did she really mean that? Seems she did not.

“She misspoke,” Landrieu spokesman Rob Sawicki told me in a phone interview a few minutes ago. “She meant to say she advises against going back to the drawing board.”

As for Landrieu’s “there’s always tomorrow” comments, Sawicki said: “If there’s things that need to be tweaked or improved or fixed after the bill is passed, there’s always tomorrow or down the road.”
