Democratic leadership is meeting with President Trump Tuesday morning for the first time since the infamous televised meeting during the government shutdown where Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) engaged in a cringe-worthy tit-for-tat with President Trump over his pet project border wall.

“I hope he has learned his lesson” Pelosi told her party leadership on Monday evening, regarding whether the huddle would be televised like last time. Politico Playbook reported on Tuesday that the meeting would be closed to the press.

The three are set to discuss proposals for a sweeping infrastructure bill. The discussion will serve as a test of whether the trio can reach a bipartisan agreement in the age of House Democrats’ investigations into Trump, his administration and his personal finances.

    Good one Speaker Pelosi.

  2. Is Infrastructure Week early this year? Is it somehow connected to lunar cycles?

  3. I’d prefer a meeting open to the press. Trump will still grandstand, extort, lie, blackmail, bluff, make outrageous demands, make promises he can’t or won’t keep in private. And Pelosi and Schumer will be powerless to report it all afterwards and call him on all of it, as he and anyone else in the room in his employ will just deny it and call them liars.

  4. Does infrastructure week also include impeachment week? That one is way more important.

We all would but Trump got schooled last time and he’s not gonna do that again. Reminding everyone of that was a good move on Speaker Pelosi’s part.
