Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper is launching a bid to topple Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO), one of the most vulnerable members in the chamber, a week after dropping out of the presidential race.
In an announcement video Hickenlooper posted online, he shoots pool while decrying the “political nonsense” of Washington.
“I’ve always said Washington was a lousy place for a guy like me who wants to get things done,” he says, clad in jeans and a button down, strolling around the pub he owns. ” But this is not time to walk away from the table.”
“I’m not done fighting for the people of Colorado,” he concludes.
Watch here:
According to the Denver Post, there are already 11 Democrats in the primary for the race, with several confirming that they’d stay in despite Hickenlooper’s entry.
Outstanding. We need the Colorado and Arizona Senate seats.
May the best candidate win and good luck to all the senate Dem primary candidates!
This is how you do it. Eye on the prize and big picture. Team player.
Well done, sir.
At least he didn’t sit on his butt and pretend to be thinking about it.
(By the way, I guess we can now say he’s transformed himself from a businessman to a professional politician. Which is fine by me.)
Take notes, Beto. Take notes, Mayor Pete.
