Rep. Bob Good’s (R-VA) district director, Sandy Adams, and her husband Melvin stood outside the Capitol with President Donald Trump’s supporters as part of the mob stormed the building last week.

Melvin Adams wrote in an email obtained by the Washington Post that he and Sandy Adams had gone to Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally, which led up to the riot, to “join with many, many thousands of wonderful red-blooded American patriots.”

He told the Washington Post that he and Sandy stood at the police line outside the Capitol but were not part of the mob that broke in the Capitol.

“We didn’t go up there,” Melvin said. “We had no business being part of that.”
