Fox News’ Glenn Beck doesn’t care about politics. He’s an entertainer.
According to a new profile in Forbes:
With a deadpan, Beck insists that he is not political: “I could give a flying crap about the political process.” Making money, on the other hand, is to be taken very seriously, and controversy is its own coinage. “We’re an entertainment company,” Beck says. He has managed to monetize virtually everything that comes out of his mouth.
Beck’s Mercury Radio Arts, which Forbes dubs “Glenn Beck Inc.,” brought in $32 million in revenue in the 12-month period ending March 1.
Here’s how:
- $13 million a year from books and magazines
- $10 million from radio
- $4 million from digital (a newsletter, GlennBeck.com and merchandise)
- $3 million from speaking engagements and events
- $2 million from his Fox News gig
