Fox News president Jay Wallace announced Wednesday that the network would side with CNN in its legal skirmish with the White House over the press pass of reporter Jim Acosta.

From an NPR reporter:

CNN filed a lawsuit on Tuesday over the White House’s revocation, demanding Acosta’s reinstatement.

The White House Correspondents’ Association supported CNN’s legal action, while the White House called the move “more grandstanding” from the network.

The White House took away Acosta’s pass after a confrontational press conference last week, during which the reporter refused to give up his microphone and the President called him a “rude, terrible person.” The White House then circulated a doctored video manipulated to make Acosta look physically rough with a female White House intern.
