As the Florida Senate race remains too close to call Wednesday morning, incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Republican challenger Rick Scott seem to be in automatic recount territory, if Scott’s .4 point does not expand with outstanding ballots.

Scott currently leads with 50.2 percent to Nelson’s 49.8 percent. In Florida, an automatic recount is triggered in races where the competitors are separated by less than .5 points.

The Nelson-Scott battle was the most expensive race of the 2018 midterms, and both sides are closely watching this race which could limit or expand Republicans’ domination in the Senate.
